Special Fruit: from yesterday to tomorrow.

It all started over 20 years ago, when Francois Maes decided to apply his knowledge of the soft fruit business to a company of his own - a company he still runs today, together with his brother Patrick. His principles then were: hands-on management, quality merchandise and tailor-made servicing. These remain guiding values in Special Fruit to this day. So what has changed in the last two decades? Well, our understanding of production and distribution has deepened. Our abilities in the areas of technology and sales have broadened. Our involvement with customers, suppliers and employees has strengthened.

 

Today, there is nothing static about the fruit business. Consumer demand is subject to fashion, trends and ever-increasing travel experiences. The result: whole product ranges virtually unknown just a generation ago.  And now available year-round, thanks to our global sourcing capabilities.
