Blackberries grow on thorny bushes. They are accessory fruits, like raspberries and strawberries. The blackberry consists of small fruits squeezed together on a kernel. Its colour varies from dark blue to purple black. Blackberries contain a lot of fibres, vitamin C and are low in calories.
And keep the following in mind:the bigger the blackberry, the more delicious!

CONSUMPTION:
Carefully rinse the blackberries, drain them and remove the stalks. It is advisable to freeze blackberries around the end of August - beginning of September. Blackberries can be consumed on their own or with a bit of sugar. Other possibilities are: to puree or to convert them into juice or into cake filling.
STORAGE:
The blackberry is a delicate fruit. When you purchase blackberries, please make sure they are still intact. It is not possible to store blackberries, unless you freeze them. It is not advisable to store them longer than a few days in the refrigerator. It is better to immediately consume blackberries after purchase.
