kumquat
ORIGIN:
China
CONSUMPTION:
Kumquats can be eaten whole (including peel): the rind has a sweet taste and the juicy centre is sour.
The fruit is ripe when it is no longer green but yellowish-orange. Kumquat can be made in preserves or sliced in salads. Because of their size and color they are also great as drink garnishes.
STORAGE:
Kumquats last a few days at room temperature or for up to two weeks in the refrigerator.
