ORIGIN:
The Mediterranean and South America.
DESCRIPTION:
Sweet taste that sometimes can be slightly bitter, taste is very similar to a pear
CONSUMPTION:
When ripened, the fruit has a yellow or red color
The seeds in the flesh are eaten as well, although the cactus fig has to be peeled carefully to remove the small spines on the outer skin before consumption. It is safest to use a glove or a towel to hold the fig.
STORAGE:
In the fridge for at least one week.
