ORIGIN:
Thailand and Malaysia
DESCRIPTION:
The pomelo is the largest citrusfruit, the size can be up to that of a basketball, weighing between 1 and 2 kg. It is pale green to yellow when ripe, with sweet white flesh and a very thick sponge rind. The pomelo tastes like a sweet, mild grapefruit without the bitterness.
CONSUMPTION:
The white peal has a bitter taste and is best taken off completely.
STORAGE:
Room temperature, keeps well for about 2 weeks.
